Mechanical Engineering-
A branch of engineering concerned primarily with the industrial application of mechanics and with the production of tools, machinery, and their products.
It is the broadest branch which overlaps with almost every branch of Engineering. Some of them are following-
- Aerospace - This branch of mechanical engineering relates to the operation and maintenance of propulsion and other machines on board ships. Aerospace engineering is the primary field of engineering concerned with the development of aircraft and spacecraft. It has two major and overlapping branches: Aeronautical engineering and Astronautical Engineering.
- Mechatronics - Mechatronics, which is also called mechatronic engineering, is a multidisciplinary branch of engineering that focuses on the engineering of both electrical and mechanical systems, and also includes a combination of robotics, electronics, computer, telecommunications, systems, control, and product engineering.
- Marine - Marine engineering is a branch of Engineering that deals with nautical architecture and science. The term 'Marine Engineering' is meant for research conducted in oceans and coastal or inland waters connected to the sea.
- Metallurgy - Metallurgical engineering is the study of metals. Combining theory and practice, degree programs cover the mining, extraction, design, and processing of metals, as well as how metals react to environmental changes or stress. Students also learn fundamental engineering principles.
- Production/Industrial - Production engineering is a combination of manufacturing technology, engineering sciences with management science. A production engineer typically has a wide knowledge of engineering practices and is aware of the management challenges related to production.
- Automobile - This branch deals with the designing, developing, manufacturing, testing and repairing and servicing automobiles such as cars, trucks, motorcycles, scooters etc & the related sub-Engineering systems. For the perfect blend of manufacturing and designing automobiles, Automobile Engineering uses the features of different elements of Engineering such as mechanical, electrical, electronic, software and safety engineering.
- Manufacturing - Manufacturing Engineering is the subset/specialization of a Mechanical Engineering. Mechanical Engineering with the focus only on Machine Tools, Materials Science, Tribology, and Quality Control is known as Manufacturing Engineering
