Lean process
- Lean is the streamlined manufacturing and production process.
- it has speed
- it removes the wastage.
- it also removes the nonvalue added steps from manufacturing processes.
- it focused on Customers based manufacturing.
Six Sigma process
- Six Sigma is the process to eliminate defects from products.
- it has Accuracy
- Minimizes the tolerances of products.
*Note
Both lean and Six Sigma have the same goal i.e. to improve productivity and remove defects.

Working process of lean and six Sigma process-
Define
- This is the initiation of the project.
- It is the first stage to define the problem.
Measure
- Measure the current performance of the work process.
- identify the data and collect it.
- E.g. take the record of processing time of every station, assembly time, waiting time, the number of rejection part per million, etc.
Analyze
- Remove all the irreverent data that is not related to your goal/objective.
- Analyze the data collected from work in progress. These data are very important for companies for the future and to improve quality and performance.
- Identify the number of variables affecting your goal.
- Now categorize the variables on a priority basis so that you can handle one by one.
Improve
- On the basis of analysis, it is required to improve the performance of work.
- Now take the corrective action to eliminate it.
- Re-analyze the result by applying on prototypes.
Control
- Evolute the result and process.
- Define action and make coordination among team members.
- look at the opportunity for improvement and try to apply on the process.
