Working process of lean and six Sigma process-

Define

  • This is the initiation of the project.
  • It is the first stage to define the problem.

Measure

  • Measure the current performance of the work process.
  • identify the data and collect it.
  • E.g. take the record of processing time of every station, assembly time, waiting time, the number of rejection part per million, etc.

Analyze

  • Remove all the irreverent data that is not related to your goal/objective.
  • Analyze the data collected from work in progress. These data are very important for companies for the future and to improve quality and performance.
  • Identify the number of variables affecting your goal.
  • Now categorize the variables on a priority basis so that you can handle one by one.

Improve

  • On the basis of analysis, it is required to improve the performance of work.
  • Now take the corrective action to eliminate it.
  • Re-analyze the result by applying on prototypes.

Control

  • Evolute the result and process.
  • Define action and make coordination among team members.
  • look at the opportunity for improvement and try to apply on the process.
