6 Sigma quality control

Six Sigma-

Six sigma is a contentious improvement in the quality of the product or services for elimination of defects.
It is developed by Motorola and Smit in early 1980's.

For example- If a company manufacturing 1 million product then it should not be more than 3.4 defects ( 0.4 is not a product so either 3 or 4 product.)
Defects-
At 6 sigma- 3.4
At 5 sigma- 230
At 4 sigma- 6210 and so on..

Costumer satisfaction-

Every organization have goal to reach six sigma by contentious improvement in quality. Even if they can't get the six sigma but if they reach 3or 4 sigma then it will reduce cost and increase Costumer satisfaction.

Objective of six sigma-

  1. Define goal
  2. Measure current issue
  3. Analyze the steps to be taken
  4. Improve
  5. Control the process
